Can any mp3 player be connected to my speakers? 10 pts for answering fully!!?

1. i'm currently using Creative SBS 15 speakers. that's quite an outdated speakers i tink. anyway, i used to connect this speaker to my computer using the green cable. i'm not sure what that cable is called. i'm not a very technical person.

so, can i insert that green cable which i normally insert into my comp to the headphone jack of any mp3 player instead? will the mp3 player be able to playback songs using the speaker?

2. a) is there a headphone jack in all laptops? so that i can use a headphone to playback music on my laptop, instead of using the laptop's own built-in speakers?

b) Also, can I connect a speaker to the laptop using the same headphone jack when the headphone is not connected?

Request: If anyone wants to use technical terms like male cable, coaxial, optical cable, line-in, line-out or something, do you mind explaining what it is and how they look like. because.. apart from knowing that these terms exist, i know next to nothing about it..

1. Yes, I don't know if those speakers are self powered or not, if they do not have an internal amplifier, they might not be as loud as they could be, and it may cause your battery life on the Mp3 player to go down since they have to drive speakers larger then headphone speakers.

2a. on 99% of laptops, there should be a headphone jack, and yes you can just plug the speakers into that jack. There might also be a "line out" jack, which just is a lower power connector for plugging in speakers that have their own amplifier built in.

for laptop u need to connect the male jack of ur speakers to the headphone line out socket of ur laptop....dunno about the colour green but mine is black with headfone symbol on it.

or just put on a song and simpily plug in all sockets to test which

is the audio output if ur unsure, it wont do any harm just make sure the speakers are on....
