Help with mp3 converterr???

does anybody know where can i get a free file to convert wma to mp3??? or is it in my window media player??? my laptop is vaio c23, does it contain the file to convert to mp3?

well, if you have i tunes, hilight the songs you want to convert, go to advance than click convert selection to mp3. now the important part:

dont click anything while it is converting

after done the hilighted songs you delete and the ones not hilighted are the mp3s
some wma (windows media audio) files are protected with the(DRM) digital rights management protection / this only allows you to play the file, not convert, or burn it.

they can not be converted with regular converters

there are (illegal) converters out there (not free) ...................

for those wma files that are not protected (they are out there)

try freerip it is a free cd ripper program also has a converter

to determine if your wma files are protected or not / inside your folder(right click empty space on desktop / point to new click folder) at the top you should see a little square that looks like a mini calender("views") point to it left click and select "details"

then in the strip near the top that says "name" right click" then select "more" at the very bottom

then in the list find the word "protected" check the box beside it(remember to click ok to close details selection list) now when you add wma files to this folder in the column "protected" it will say either yes or no

the ones that say no you should be able to convert to mp3 with freerip
