Use IE to download songs of MP3 format,when done, the songs of MP3 format become MP2 format?

i use IE 7 to download songs of MP3 format, but the songs end up in MP2 in my computer.

i.e i am downloading you.mp3, when i right click on the link and select save target as, window explorer window opens and ask where i want to save the file, until this moment, the file extension is not MP3, it is MP2. and when download is done, the song is in MP2 format. i use firefox, and this problem does not exist. and this problem recently occurs, in the past,i have never encountered such a problem.

when you save it, put .mp3 at the end. if that dont work, go into where the file is, then go onto tools, then folder settings or folder options (not sure which)\

a windoiw should come up, with loads of options in a little scrollbar area. look for the one that says 'hide extensions for known file types' and deselect it, then click either apply or ok (not sure which might be there. then rename, with extra care, the EXTENSION (the bit after the '.' of the music in mp2) and then put a 3 instead of 2.

that must work when it comes to it

if not, use something like easy cd-da extractor and convert the mp2(s) to mp3(s) (the (s) are for if you have more than one, not that they'll be .mp2s)
